Excellent blog, however I think most of the links are pointing a little bit wrong as about half of them point back the blog itself and not to other blogs which I think was the intention

They work fine for me... which particular ones? Also, what browser?
The following links all point to: http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=788
"attletested" Yes the b isn't part of the link. "time" "hiring plan" "3rd parties" "basis" "plaguing fleet fights" "real techy blogs"

Originally by: CCP Unifex Actualy, the technology shown in the video was the state of play back in March when it was created for our joint talk with NVIDIA at GDC. The tech being shown is the physicaly simulated cloth using their APEX framework. Things have come on quite some way since then although I should point out that the assets being used are game agnostic Carbon assets which let us show off the tech. The tech is being developed and will be available for our games to use.
So in other words that will be used both for Internet Spaceships as well as the Internet Vampires then?
How well will the Apex stuff work for us that prefer ATI hardware since Nvidia refuses to do the physics stuff on a dedicated Nvidia card unless the game is rendered by Nvidia as well?

Originally by: CCP Unifex The APEX / PhysX enabled technology will simply run on the CPU if you are using an ATI card rather than on the GPU if you were using an NVIDIA card. Using an ATI card won't lock you out of using the tech.
How will it be performance wise if used on a CPU? Also will it scale up on multiple cores if available?

Originally by: Syekuda CCP Fallout. I've been watching this video and I thought of 1 thing after that. I saw that character in the video and I can't recognize it from anywhere. Perhaps its normal since it could be imagined from someone.
So I was thinking that if you guys create more avatars like this one here in the vid, does this mean you will have to recreate the avatars on the character selection screen ? Will we have more control or features with it. For example, I could create a character in Incarna and "take" a picture and use that for my character selection screen. I assume I will have to respect some racial figures.
The devs have stated over and over again that we will have to remake all avatars with Incarna as the new rendering system isn't compatible with the current one.
It is possible that we will get to do this new portrait picture already in the winter expansion (as it is supposed to contain preparation work for incarna).

Originally by: Vaerah Vahrokha Please, when you implement the new avatars, make it possible to copy the current face onto the new one (I hope you save the parameters used at character creation, RIGHT?).
Wrong.
If we are lucky we might be able to see the old portrait at the same time as we make the new one as it was a suggestion during Fanfest.

Originally by: Jim Luc Now that would be very cool - if Incarna had with it the ability to allow/disallow/charge people from entering a player-run establishment.
That has been mentioned once or twice during Fanfest so with a bit of luck they will have enough developer time to get it added. One typical scenario mentioned was that it could check if you had big enough wallet, such as only people with more than 10b cash could enter.

Sometime after Fanfest 2011.

Originally by: JcJet Oh... i was hoped to see it this winter, at least...
Well it sounds like we will be able to rebuild the avatars to be Incarna compatible this winter, but it will take a little while longer before they can start walking.
